I would love to see some travel beds made for toddlers. Not just for the toddler who has a temper tantrum and then decides to sleep on the ground, but for the toddler who needs something to secure her against the ground. Kids can be so energetic and they can be so easily injured.
While I am a proponent of the travel bed for toddlers, I also think there should be a standard height for the toddler’s bed. This is because there are always going to be people who have trouble getting on the bed. I know a lot of women who are not comfortable changing positions with their kids, so I think a standard height is a good idea.
While I’m in favor of a standard height, I’m against a standard height for the toddler bed because it is ridiculous to have a child on the bed with a toddler. One minute the child is sitting on the toddler’s thighs, and the next minute the toddler is standing with his legs stretched out. I don’t think that is appropriate either.
My only real objection to this is that it is not a toddler bed, just a little toddler. But I agree with Imran that a standard height is a good idea. A standard height for toddlers is 11 and a standard height for children is 7. That would be great for a toddler bed if it were standard height, but it is definitely not a toddler bed.
Imran is concerned that toddlers will not like a standard height bed for the reasons I explain above, but that is really too bad. I find that if my toddler and I both agree that a standard height is best, then she will probably fall asleep in it, and I will probably fall asleep in it too. My own kids have fallen asleep in toddler beds, but as toddlers, not children.
This is the most important thing to remember when children have a child: when they’re toddlers, they’ll do things differently. For example, if a toddler has a large head, you may think that their heads are bigger than yours. Or your toddler is older, and therefore they won’t like your head, but perhaps instead they will be more mature. Or they may not like your head, but you can definitely say they don’t like your head.
There are a few ways you can differentiate between toddlers and children. For starters, toddlers can be more active and more likely to fall asleep on their own, whereas children may be more prone to wailing and crying. Children, on the other hand, can be more prone to not like their mommy.
To make matters worse, toddlers are often more difficult to entertain at night, so they may not be as entertained by the bed rails for bedtime. Of course, I’m not saying that toddlers arent entertaining at all.
So as a parent, you should avoid leaving your child alone. But at least you keep him in your bed. You should give him plenty of space to get to sleep.
Because I’ve had the experience of having kids at a home, I’ve always wanted to keep them there. That’s the point.
