Therefore, a good internet connection is a must while registering on the official EPFO website. Also, there might be a slight chance of the website crashing due to traffic. In such a case, you are advised to go over the procedure one more time.
• Select the “Know your UAN” tab from the dropdown menu. This option will take you to another tab that would require certain personal details, such as your name, mobile number, e-mail address, etc.

STEP 2: Fill in the details

• After selecting the option, you will have to fill in your details as mentioned below:

1. Provident Fund Number or Member ID
2. Name of the employee
3. Date of Birth
4. A valid e-mail address
5. Mobile number to be used to retrieve the PIN

(NOTE: If you don’t know your PF number or member ID, just look through your last salary slip from any employer.)

• Once you have successfully filled in the above-mentioned details, you then need to fill in the captcha carefully and click on the “Get Authorization Pin”.
• This option will take you to another tab, and the screen will ask you to fill in the PIN. You are required to check the registered mobile number for the PIN.
• The screen will display a “Validate OTP and get UAN” message after filling in the correct PIN on the previous tab.

STEP 3: Getting the Universal Account Number

• Upon clicking the “ Validate OTP and get UAN” option on the screen, the platform would check if the entered PIN matches the mobile number registered by the user in the first step. Upon successful validation of the PIN entered, you will get a 12-digit-long Universal Account Number on the mobile number given in the first step.
• Please ensure that you give only one mobile number throughout the UAN registration process to eliminate confusion and get your UAN as soon as possible.
